Shoreline Out and About, or shorelineoutandabout.com, is a website designed to connect communities throughout Connecticut and RI.  We have tasked ourselves with exploring, promoting and generally speaking interacting with all that is OUR communities.  Shorelineoutandabout.com started as a simple Face Book group of  35 members, and quickly grew to be a group of over 2000 in a little over 4 months.  For those of you familiar with Face Book, there is really not much you can do with it, other than post pictures, your thoughts, and form groups.  As the group grew, Mike Moretti, whom I have known for years because of our kids, contacted me, and pretty much had the same thought as I. How far can we take this idea? Well, the website you see before you is a start, but by no means is it the final, finished product. Our goal is to keep you informed of life on the Shoreline and surrounding communities.  Our goal is to share and promote all that “is” the Shoreline from New Haven to New London and beyond.  Mike’s roots are in RI so our “Shoreline” extends into beautiful RI and its surrounding communities.

Whether it is Arts and Literature, dining out, entertainment, you will find it here on our site.  Our marketplace section will bring you artisans, crafstmen and small businesses from the shoreline, and beyond. The Midlife Crisis center is not about exchanging the spouse for a newer model, but as a way of showing you very cool ways to spend your spare time, and, yes,  toys to dream about, and hopefully get your hands on. Odds and Ends is exactly that, anything from a link to a funny youtube video, to totally random stuff, basically a place to go to to lift your spirits when you are having a bad day. Our living section is exactly that. humor columns, real estate tips, home improvement do’s and don’ts, cooking, and whatever else we can come up with. All from your friends and neighbors, maybe even you. We encourage you to submit your stories, your thoughts, your reasons why you live on the shoreline.

ShorelineOutandAbout.com is about building a new sense of community. It is about finding anything, and everything that is going on, but most importantly once you find what it is you want to DO, interacting with real people from your area.  When you become a member, we will have a special special sections that make your connections more meaningful.  That will help you meet new and interesting people. It will allow you to post your events directly to the community calender, and form your own shared interest groups. Oh, and discounts. We plan  on using the the power of our numbers to get you discounts at restaurants, businesses, and anything else we can.
