Nope, I did not use the wrong word. Intentional on my part, absolutely. And it’s because we have that type of weekend. However, it just so happens that I have indoor and outdoor stuff for you, so let’s et right into it..
Tomorrow in Guilford is make a difference day. Guilford Interfaith Ministries will be working with the USPS to make donating goods to the Guilford Food Bank that much easier. Just leave it hanging from your mailbox by 9 AM, and the Postal Service will bring right to the Food Bank. Simple, hit your cupboard, and leave it in a bag. The demand this year is through the roof, and the supply is not. Let’s all do our part. Now comes a fun way of helping out. The Country Tavern is having an Oktober Fest. Real German food and beer. Proceeds will go to the Guilford Interfaith Ministries.
For those of you who love art, The Stony Creek Gallery’s Kitchen Art Show continues, and this is a great way to brighten up your kitchen. In addition to supporting your local artisans, portions of the proceeds go to The Community Dining Room. Great art, great cause. Mystic Seaport continues their International Marine Art Show, and Nautical Nightmares. Obviously, the Seaquarium at Mystic is another option for the rainy Saturday ahead.
And now, of course, my favorite part of the article. Bands. And lots of them. FYI, just click on the band that you are interested in, and the venue’s location, and all other info you may want will be listed. That’s our goal, make it easy for you to go do the things
that you want to. Get me the traffic and members I need, and I will do my damndest to get you discounts at all these places. Anyways, here we go. Playing out this weekend, FBI, Rubber Band (1/2 of the Taxmen, acoustic) , Stephan Hartman, Crosseyed Cat, Freeplay, and The Eric Ducoff Band, and Blues on the Rocks. I still have a few more spots to check, but I am thinking this is a pretty good start.
Oh, and then there is that little matter of Friday Night Happy Hour. Mango’s, Branford. 5:30, 21 and over, and let’s have fun and be responsible. So let’s Get Out, and Get Social.
See ya out and about,
Ed
