What we have is a list of choices, and there are some really incredible things going on. So, let’s get to it.
First you have The Shoreline Art Trail. Artisans up and down the Shoreline showing their talent in there studios. A great way to spend a lazy fall day. Start at the opposite end of the Shoreline, and just meander from studio to studio, maybe stop for lunch, or even better, chances are, you will be on Route One in Guilford, so stop in and see Kim, and grab some Red Rooster Baking Co. cookies!
Friday night is pretty cool. If you “Idol”, then head out to SCSU Lyman Hall, and see American Idols Kara Dioguardi, and learn what it takes to put this show on. You can also head out to the Garde Arts Center to see there production of “Defending the Caveman“. Bands for the night are: Tune Chic at The New Orleans in Westbrook, Jumokes at JRoos In North Haven, The Taxmen at the Chowder Pot in Branford, The Bernadettes at Jake’s in Wallingford, or Busdriver at The Cambridge Brew House in Torrington. And yes, I am showing more and more venues, as we actually have readers throughout the state, and there are so many great bands out there, I feel obligated to support all of them, and in the process, tell you every single gig that I can get my hands on. Period.
Saturday is more of the same. Just great music, and a little bit of dancing. First the guys fromThe Downshift Trio get it going at C.J. Sparrows in Cheshire, Those Two Guys are at Augur’s in Guilford, Steamroller is at The Highliner in Westbrook, Groovetime is tearing it up at JRoos, and Styles is at Donovan’s Reef in Branford.
Normally, I would build a link to the events section, but I am not today, I want you to click on the events section of this site, and check out just a part of what we are trying to do. I say a part, because, even after these events drift off, we have over 150 events waiting their turn. And more are coming. I am not kidding when I say that we will be the most extensive events calender in the state!
Finally, an event for you dancers. Every third Saturday of the month Shoreline Swing holds a dance at the East Lyme Community Center. And this month, they have one of the best bands in the State, The Shiny Lapel Trio! So, get out and have some fun, and as always, be smart, and be safe, as we want to see you all Out and About next weekend!
