You know the great thing about having your own website? I get to go out and do things that most people call fun, and get to label it as “work”. I know it’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it. Seriously though, there is so much talent, so many great venues, and so much to do, you really need to do it full time, and get as much help as possible to get the word out. The positive stuff. The reasons why this state is such a great place to live. I will leave the negative to those who want to dwell there. I am all about bands such as Ryan Hartt and the Blue Hearts. The Shiny Lapel Trio. Sue Menhart, Branded, The Small Town Concert Series, The Black Sheep Ranch. The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center.
This weekend, I had the great pleasure of spending two nights at The Kate. The Small Town Concert Series did an amazing job on Friday, and The Shiny Lapel Trio was equally impressive. But today, I want to focus on Ryan Hartt and the Blue Hearts. And with good reason. Today they are off to Memphis to compete in The nternational Blues Challenge. They are up against the best blues bands around. Bar none. Every band here competed in multiple rounds to earn the right to be here. And this is Ryan Hartt and the Blue Hearts THIRD time representing the great state of Connecticut. It’s hard enough to do this once, but these guys have done it three times. Want to know how they do it? Well, just listen to this.
So as they go off to Memphis to show everyone how we do it here in Connecticut, Shoreline Out and About wishes them the best, and bring back some RIBS!!!
Loving it live and local, Shoreline Out and About.
