For now. What we have going on here is one of those events that you just have to hear about. The Women and Family Life Center will be presenting two separate sessions where you can learn the moves from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. You can be honest here. When this video came out, you all wanted to learn how to zombie walk. Well, here’s your chance.

The first session is for Jr/Sr High School students and will run from 7-9PM on January 29th, and again on February 5th. The second session is for all of us juvenile adults and is on February 1st, and February 8th. Cost is $40.

Now a little about the instructors and class..

Instructors, Jenna and Shelby began to zombie march to Michael Jackson’s iconic song “Thriller” at the Trail of Terror located in Wallingford, CT to entertain the long lines. Now they bring that same enthusiasm and amusement to class with Thrill Me!!! The class is fun and entertaining and people of all ages and skill levels can come together and share in the love of dance, music, and of course “Thriller”. The class breaks down the dance moves step-by-step so that you can impress your friends at your next gathering. Be sure to wear workout clothes because this 6-minute dance will get feet moving and heart’s pumping!!! The class is taught in two sessions from 7-9pm. Sign up your kids, and then take one yourself- family gatherings will never be the same!

Thinking this just might be too good a thing to walk away from …..

Congressman Jim Himes to speak

MILFORD/STAMFORD, Conn., October 17, 2009 — The Connecticut Center for Child Development (CCCD), a non-profit school for children with autism located in Milford, CT will host “Dancing for our Stars” at The Stamford Marriott to help fund a much needed, brand new school building scheduled to open in 2010.

“Healthcare has been top of mind for everyone” says Suzanne Letso, executive director and co-founder of CCCD. “We are thrilled that Congressman Jim Himes has found time to attend our event and share some of his views with us. Awareness about autism has entered the public consciousness and now it is time to rally people to provide more direct services like schooling for these children.”

This year, CCCD will be honoring Autism Speaks Connecticut Advocacy Chair Shannon Knall. Shannon has volunteered her time to spearhead The Autism Speaks ‘Autism Votes’ insurance legislation in Connecticut as well as being involved in other activities such as The Walk for Autism fund raiser. In addition, Betty Benvenuto will be honored posthumously as a lifetime supporter of CCCD.

There will be cocktails, a silent auction, dinner, a live auction and a local celebrity realistic “Dancing With the Stars” event with music from the famed 16 piece White Heat Swing Orchestra. Money raised will help fund the new building at the Wolf Harbor Campus in Milford.

Professional auctioneer, Jamie Gardner, will reprise his role from last year and auction off fabulous products, trips, wine and several surprise items.
Festivities start at 6:00 PM on October 17th at The Stamford Marriott at Two Stamford Forum.

Tickets are $250 per person. For more information about this event please contact Diana Barros at 203-306-0005 ext. 304.

CCCD is grateful to it sponsors including: The Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa, HB Communications, Inc., The Stamford Advocate, WSHU, Broadbent Selections Wine, TD Bank, and Pratt & Whitney.
