Thought that I might have forgotten that many of you have kids? Actually no, so I thought I might throw a few ideas out at you, so I went online and tried to check a few things out there, and you know what I found. A virtual plethora of websites chock full of nothing. Seriously, these site were just left to wither and die. Well fear not, I have a few things, and now it’s kind of a mission to see what we can find for all of you parents. And I will do my best to make sure that it absolutely wears the little munchkin out.

Now I grew up in the country per se. 30 + years ago, North Guilford was pretty much a different place than it is now. We had to find ways to amuse ourselves, and there were plenty of cornfields to run through. So, I think that it is pretty cool that Lyman Orchards in Durham has a corn maze. Now, there is a slight fee, but all proceeds go to the Newington Childrens oshpital, so that is a great thing. Bishop’s Orchards in Guilford has a giant hay bale maze, so that would a good thing for the kids. Even better for the adults. I mean you go with a couple friends, and half of you stand at the entrance, and the rest of you stand at the exit. This way the kids don’t get by you. They will run around forever in one of these things, and you all can have a great conversation.

Finally, for now at least, The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center has the award winning singer songwriter Stevesongs on Sunday. He takes a little break from his co- hosting gig on PBS Kids Morning block to get out and meet his mini-peeps, so treat your kids to a great show.

We do have haunted hayrides listed on the calender of events, and we will do what we can to find more family oriented activities.
